Kathy Griffin has been in hot water since she posted a photo of her holding a gory replica of Donald Trump's beheaded head. Since then, she has been fired from CNN and many people have been criticizing her on social media. More trouble keeps coming her way because now she is being investigated as an enemy of the state.

The VFW, Veterans of Foreign Wars, is denouncing Griffin's "incredibly revolting attack on the President of the United States" and does not accept her apology.

"What she did was not humorous nor should it be protected speech or expression. Playing to an audience with a severed head is what our enemies do. The USO should immediately end its relationship with her." the organization said.

The USO announced on Twitter that they have no affiliations with Griffin.

The United States Secret Service instantly became involved once the photo received so much backlash on social media considering her a serious threat.

"On it!" the agency tweeted. "@SecretService has a robust protective intelligence division that monitors open source reporting & social media to evaluate threats."

Although the comedian intended the gesture to be used in a comedic sense, many are viewing it as a terrorist threat. Griffin attempted to cover up her mistake by claiming the photo was "artistic expression" in an interview with Yashar Ali on Tuesday.
