On Thursday, Ke$ha revealed her thoughts on how she is perceived by the public and why she doesn't listen to her own music when she exercises.

The 26-year-old pop star is featured on the cover of Self magazine's July issue (on newsstands June 25), free from her usual glittery makeup and eccentric outfits. In the magazine's feature story, she opened up about her party girl image.

"The most important thing I've done is learn to laugh at myself," the singer said, "and I try to do that with any negativity coming at me, too. It's hilarious how mean some people get about my silly pop songs."

Ke$ha is known for such "silly" pop hits as Tik Tok, Die Young and We R Who We R, but she revealed that her songs' dance beats have actually helped a lot of her fans get into shape.

"I really love that people like to exercise to my music. I want it to bring out the wildness in everyone, and if that encourages you to be a fighter and get fit, that's great."

The singer admitted that she does not listen to her own music when she exercises, calling such behavior "douche-y."

Ke$ha has become known for distributing condoms with her face on the wrapper at her concerts, but she dismissed those who judge her for it. "People think because I hand out condoms, I must be some sort of ho. That's not the case. I'm a little bit of a kissing slut, but usually I just make out and then run away."

Billboard revealed on Monday that Mike Posner will be the opening act for Ke$ha during her Warrior tour in August. Posner is best known for his hit song Cooler Than Me and is on the same record label as Ke$ha. Posner will begin touring with her on August 6 in Cleveland.

Ke$ha is currently finishing up her tour with Pitbull before launching her solo tour in July.
