It seems that Prince Harry's remarks have caused a ripple effect among his future in-laws. After enjoying a lovely Christmas with his close family members and his fiancée, Meghan Markle, the prince is now facing some backlash for what he stated in a recent interview.

The first person in Markle's family to speak out about the prince's comments was the future duchess's paternal half-sister, Samantha Grant. Grant took to Twitter to fire back about the prince's comments that his family is the family Markle "never had." Grant stated that Markle always had a family, and that didn't change even after the former Suits actress's parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, divorced.

Grant also stated that Markle was never estranged from anyone in their family, but Markle's schedule made it difficult for her to always be around. Now Markle's paternal half-brother, Thomas Jr., is speaking about the remarks and the effect it will have on their father, Thomas Sr.

"My father will be extremely hurt, actually. He dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her. He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she's at today," Thomas Jr. stated in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Thomas also echoed his sister's remarks that their family is "extremely close" and gets together on holidays.

"Obviously, she had a family. She was very privileged. She got everything she ever wanted. We did the best that we could in terms of getting together for holidays and whatnot," Markle's brother continued.

Markle nor Prince Harry have responded to her family's comments on the matter. The two, who are currently planning their May 2018 nuptials, were last seen spending the holiday with the Royal Family.

The couple became engaged after dating for over a year on Nov. 29. Before the recent remarks made by Prince Harry, Markle's family stated that they were "delighted" for Markle's engagement to the royal.
