It looks like Ed Sheeran found love right where he was. The Grammy-winning singer is officially engaged to longtime girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn.

On Saturday, Sheeran took to his Instagram to announce the news. He posted a snuggly photo of the two. Since the announcement, the photo has received over two million likes and has been flooded with excited comments from fans.

"Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well," the singer wrote.

Sheeran popped the question to Seaborn after three years of dating. Seaborn, 24, was actually the woman that inspired his hit single, "Perfect."

In an interview with Radio, the English singer opened up about his relationship with Seaborn. When asked if she could be the one, Sheeran didn't hesitate to say yes.

"But I think if you ever enter into a long-term relationship and you have a doubt, then you shouldn't be in a long-term relationship," Sheeran stated.

The 26-year-old also revealed that he never thought he would end up with someone from high school. He actually thought he would end up with an actress or someone in the industry.

Ed Sheeran And Cherry Seaborn's Love Story

While the couple has been dating for three years, they have known each other since high school. In March 2017, Sheeran shared that he has known Seaborn since he was 11 years old.

However, the pair didn't reconnect until 2015 while he was on a tour. The "Shape of You" singer made a stop in New York and was able to see Seaborn since she worked on Wall Street.

As he continued his tour, he stopped by his bestie, Taylor Swift's 4th of July Party in Rhode Island. After realizing that they were both in the same state, Sheeran invited Seaborn to the party and the rest is history.

In addition to raising two cats, Seaborn encouraged Sheeran to clean up his act before he started recording his latest album Divide.

In December 2015, the singer shocked fans when he announced his decision to take a year off from his career and social media. Sheeran later revealed that his decision was due to substance abuse.

Luckily, Seaborn was right by his side to keep him grounded. The singer explained that being a 25-year-old in the industry and on tour was a lot. He really appreciated Seaborn being there to help balance everything out.
