Marvel Studios fans were ecstatic to learn that the film studio has dropped the first trailer to Ant-Man And The Wasp.

The Official Trailer

Ant-Man And The Wasp's official teaser starts with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) asking a simple question to Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) if she would have helped Ant-Man out during the Avengers' civil war that took place in Captain America: Civil War. Van Dyne coyly dodges the question but adds that if she were there, Lang would have never been caught.

Van Dyne revealed that because of Lang's involvement in the Civil War, the Federal Bureau of Investigation closed in on her and her father, Lang's mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Pym shrunk his office as they went on the run from the law enforcement agency.

However, when an assassin, the Ghost, attempts to steal the Pym Particles, Lang and van Dyne must put aside their differences to stop this threat. The trailer ends by showing how the Wasp would be a capable partner in Ant-Man's quest as she, while tiny, dodges a henchman's numerous knives being thrown and how she enlarges a Hello Kitty PEZ dispenser to make her get away.

The Film's Cast And Director

Rudd, Lilly, and Douglas are expected to be joined by returning faces including Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, and David Dastmalchian.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is also expected to have silver screen veterans Laurence Fishburne and Michelle Pfeiffer to the film. Fishburne will portray Bill Foster, Pym's former assistant, while Pfeiffer is expected to portray Janet van Dyne, Hope's mother and Pym's missing wife.

Director Peyton Reed teased that Ant-Man and the Wasp would focus on both the heroic and romantic partnership between Rudd's Ant-Man and Lilly's The Wasp.

Hawkeye In The 'Ant-Man' Universe?

With the Wasp's inclusion in the sequel, Marvel Studios is continuing to expand the Ant-Man universe.

However, there was one rumored character that did not make his appearance in the official trailer. Several publications have reported that Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton would have either hunted down Pym or made a cameo appearance.

The Future Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Ant-Man and the Wasp is not the only Marvel Studios production that is in the works. Captain Marvel, which will star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, is getting ready to start the filming process. The film is expected to be released on Mar. 8, 2019. There is also a possibility that Robert Downey, Jr. could reprise his role as Tony Stark in Iron Man 4.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is scheduled to debut in theatres on July 6.
