Alicia Silverstone and husband, Christopher Jarecki, have called it quits on their marriage. The couple decided to mutually part ways after being together for 20 years.

The Split

Silverstone's representative confirmed the split in a statement sent to several media outlets. According to the statement, the Clueless star and Jarecki will continue to love each other and will remain as friends.

"They still deeply love and respect each other and remain very close friends but have mutually decided to separate after being together for 20 years," reads the statement.

Jarecki, the frontman for punk band S.T.U.N., shares 6-year-old son, Bear Blue, with Silverstone. The couple has agreed to co-parent their child even after the split. The exes also shared the same vegan lifestyle, which led to Silverstone becoming a cookbook author. She has published two books: The Kind Diet in 2009 and the vegan pregnancy guide The Kind Mama in 2014.

Relationship History

The 41-year-old Silverstone and her musician husband dated for eight years before Jarecki popped the question in 2004. The actress recalled that it was the "most beautiful proposal." She remembered seeing Jarecki waiting for her on their old wicker love seat with the ring in his hand.

Silverstone and Jarecki tied the knot in an intimate beachfront wedding in June 2005 in Lake Tahoe. Only close friends and family witnessed the couple exchange wedding vows while barefoot on the beach. The celebration included a midnight gathering around a campfire while eating vegan burgers and singing The Beatles songs.

Talking about the ceremony, The Killing of a Sacred Deer actress remembered getting too excited to kiss Jarecki. Waiting for the "You may now kiss the bride" at the end was a struggle.

"It was so hard not to kiss him during the ceremony! I was going out of my mind. So the kiss at the end was amazing," Silverstone recalled.

Silverstone and Jarecki have kept most details of their married life in private. They rarely share photos of the family on social media or even on the actress's blog The Kind Life. The last time the musician appeared on his wife's Instagram was in July 2017. Silverstone shared a photo of Jarecki and their son, Bear, doing yoga.

Silverstone's recent Instagram photos are from her trip to Anini Beach in Kauai with Bear. Her recent tweet also does not mention her husband, Jarecki, or about the split.
