The 1995 chick flick "Clueless" changed the lingo of a generation with its catchphrases "whatever," "as if" and "going postal."

"Clueless" cast members recently reunited for Entertainment Weekly magazine's Reunions Issue. The gang was interviewed by "Good Morning America" last month, but their reunion aired on the new-entertainment show Oct. 5.

"It started a trend," said Stacey Dash, according to Yahoo!. Dash starred as Cher Horowitz's best friend Dionne. "It's the first one with a voice-over about girls in high school and .... just knowing what they wanted and what they liked."

Because the movie was set at a Beverly Hills high school and focused on topics such as love, fashion and popularity, it was said by many that it did not have big-screen appeal.

"At the time people were saying, 'Who wants to watch a bunch of young people?'" said Alicia Silverstone, who played main character Cher Horowitz.

But "Clueless" has become a cult-classic and 17 years later, the cast members who have led successful careers since the movie, still get approached because of their first major film role.

"People will still come up to me about that movie, and I'm like, I'm like 100 years old now," said Elisa Donovan, who played Amber, Cher's fashion follower. "They remember this movie. It's amazing."

Cher had a computerized closet with hundreds of outfits to choose from so she would always look fabulous. But Silverstone didn't appreciate all of her wardrobe changes at the time.

"I didn't understand fashion at all," Silverstone said. "I had to do 60 changes ... and I was so tired and I had to keep having fittings so I kind of hated them. I hated the clothes. I just didn't get it. Then when I saw the movie I was like, 'I understand!' ....I was 'clueless' about what was going on."

The cast recalled their favorite lines. Jeremy Sisto, who played the popular boy Elton, distinctly remembers the late actress Brittany Murphy's line, "You're a virgin who can't drive."

Murphy died suddenly in 2009. According to Yahoo, the coroner's report stated that she died from acute pneumonia, anemia and drug intoxication.

Murphy played the "clueless" new girl, Tai, who Cher taught how to be popular.

"She was so, so, so genuine and sweet. For a week I couldn't believe it was real, to be honest with you," said Walker, who played Cher's gay love interest, about Murphy's sudden death. "I was like this cannot be real."

Her cast mates will never be able to forget her bubbly personality and infectious laugh.

"She had a contagious laugh," Dash said. "She was just angelic, always happy, always lovable."
