The Weeknd's New Album Is Coming Soon: Will He Talk About Selena Gomez?

Has The Weeknd been inspired to write new heartbreak songs following his messy split from Selena Gomez in October of last year?

According to a new report, Travis Scott recently confirmed The Weeknd's plans to release a new album. Right away, the musician's online audience began to wonder if he would be discussing his breakup on his upcoming songs.

“Abel new album is scray. It’s like when I first heard him for the first time. F**kkkkkk !!!!!” Scott tweeted on March 2, according to a report by Hollywood Life.

The Weeknd hasn't yet revealed any details about his upcoming album, including its potential release date, but a Gomez-inspired track or two is a possibility. After all, they dated for nearly a year, during which time he may have been starting the writing process on his new songs.

As fans may recall, Gomez began dating The Weeknd in early 2017 and traveled with him during his Starboy: Legend of the Fall World Tour in the months that followed. Then, in October of last year, after dating for 10 months, Gomez suddenly turned up in Los Angeles with her former boyfriend, Justin Bieber.

“Selena‘s family doesn’t like Justin,” an insider close to Gomez's family revealed to Hollywood Life in December. “They all loved Abel so much, so it’s a wave of emotions right now for all involved."

Apparently, Gomez's family is no fan of Bieber and greatly appreciated what The Weeknd brought to her life. In fact, during the couple's relationship, Selena's mom Mandy Teefey confirmed her approval of their love after sharing an image of them attending the Met Gala together in May, 2017.

“They’re having a hard time telling their true feelings to Selena because they know the more they talk bad about him, the more she'll feel hurt," the insider explained months ago. “They are really caught between a rock and a hard place.”

Although Gomez's family doesn't like her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Bieber, that hasn't stopped her from continuing on with him. The couple was recently seen at a church service together in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, The Weeknd has yet to go public with anyone new since his split from Gomez, although he was spotted with his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid weeks after their breakup.
