Grey's Anatomy stars Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew may be on the way out, but fans love them to the sky and back — literally.

Sky-High Fan Appreciation

Fans of the pair commissioned a plane to fly over Los Angeles with a banner that says "We [love] Sarah Drew & Jessica Capshaw." The treat took the actresses by surprise, spurring them to post their appreciation on social media.

"This is extraordinary," Drew wrote on Instagram where she posted multiple photos and videos of the banner flying over the studio. "We are overwhelmed. We love you right back!!!"

Her costar Capshaw also chimed in with her disbelief on both Instagram and Twitter.

"Looks like the fans just let the mike drop," she wrote on her own Instagram account. "Wow, wow, wow...can't believe that you all organized a plane to actually fly over prospect studios with a banner that read... WE [love] SARAH DREW & JESSICA CAPSHAW."

The videos they posted showed the disbelief of both actresses as they watched the banner flying overhead.

The GoFundMe page indicated the fans targeted and reached $1,000 for the aerial banner. It was done in hopes of changing the fate of both actresses on the show and inspired by a similar fan-initiated effort for The Young and the Restless, which succeeded in keeping actor Daniel Goddard.

Goodbye To 'Grey's Anatomy'

Both actresses will end their tenure on the hit ABC drama by the end of the ongoing season. Capshaw has been part of the show for 10 years, while Drew joined nine years ago.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes announced the cast shake-up last week, adding that it was purely a creative decision by the team.

"Both Arizona Robbins and April Kepner are not only beloved but iconic — both the LBGTQ and devout Christian communities are underrepresented on TV," Rhimes says in a statement. "I will be forever grateful to both Jessica and Sarah for bringing these characters to life with such vibrant performances and for inspiring women around the globe."

The news was met with outrage from viewers as both Drew and Capshaw were fan favorites in the long-running medical drama.

Drew, who plays April Kepner, already nabbed a leading role in another television series: CBS' Cagney & Lacey pilot.

Grey's Anatomy season 14 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
