Molly Ringwald is giving credit where credit is due, and that is for the doctor who helped save his dad's life while onboard a plane.

Contrary to the angry social media posts directed to airline companies of incompetent crews and some questionable deeds, Ringwald has given due recognition to the people who had greatly aided in ensuring his dad's, Robert "Bob," safety. The 50-year-old expressed her gratitude for Southwest Airlines doing an emergency landing during the dire situation and a doctor who coincidentally was on the same flight as her dad's.

"I would like to thank Southwest Airlines and the doctor who happened to be onboard. They emergency landed the plane for my dad. Because of their speed and professionalism, my father's life was saved. #SouthWest #gratitude," Ringwald wrote.

Meanwhile, the airlines company also reached out to the actress and asked for her to direct message the names of the crew that assisted her father in order to give appreciation and recognition. It is still unknown what Ringwald's father's medical condition was.

Ringwald played Claire Standish in the 1985 film The Breakfast Club. The film revolved around five high school students who met on one Saturday morning for detention, the time when they were able to share their own stories, a far cry from how they were seen by everyone else.

Daddy's Girl

Robert is a popular jazz pianist that had greatly influenced her daughter in terms of music. Ringwald had jazz albums and even worked with her dad' s band, Fulton Street Jazz Band.

"He is of the traditional era, but he gave me an incredible education that a lot in my generation do not have," Ringwald said of her dad.

She isn't one to shy away for being close to her dad either. In 2014, Ringwald admitted in an interview that she was indeed a "daddy's girl" and that it was "musical connection" she had with the patriarch that was unique from her siblings' link with him.

Tragic Incident

The news came as a good review for Southwest Airlines, which is still reeling from a tragedy last week. A flight to Dallas became a tragic accident after one of the engines was damaged. The plane made an emergency landing in Philadelphia.

The incident resulted to the death of a passenger, 43-year-old Jennifer Riordan, who reportedly got sucked out of the window. There were less than 10 people who were injured as well.

The fatal accident is the first for airline companies since 2009. Southwest Airlines admitted that their bookings had plunged after the accident. It also said it has inspected most of its aircrafts.
