Amy Schumer spent five days in the hospital for a kidney infection, but that didn't stop this comedian from being her usual, comical self.

Because of this, the 36-year-old was ordered by doctors to take a rest. That meant missing the London premiere of her new film I Feel Pretty. Schumer took to her Instagram to explain her miss on the premiere and to thank the people that had attended to her during her time at the hospital.

"I wanted to share this with you because this is sexy as hell," Schumer said.

Of course, it was laden with Schumer antics, which probably meant she didn't lose the funny bone after her hospital stint. The Trainwreck star further stressed that she felt disappointed of missing Europe, as she loved the place in general, as well as the people and food there.

As much as she wanted to go, she prioritized her health, heeding doctors' advice. Furthermore, Schumer thanked the love and support the I Feel Pretty film had been receiving.

The award-winning actress expressed her gratitude for the doctors, "bad-ass" nurses, her sisters, and husband, Chris Fischer. As a closing note, Schumer encouraged people to watch I Feel Pretty, saying it will make viewers feel better, something that she also wished to feel.

Supportive Husband

The series of images she uploaded at least have given fans a glimpse of what happened. The first one showed Schumer on a hospital bed with two IVs in one arm. The other two showed her husband by her side and a solo photo of the guy in one of the hospital room's couch.

Moreover, the photos showed the support she had been getting from Fischer. Schumer and the chef secretly wed in February in Malibu. What's not a secret, however, was their relationship. They met through her assistant, who was the sister of Fischer.

Schumer needed a chef, and because of the referral, she got to meet Fischer. For the comedian, she initially felt that the guy wasn't into him, so she got comfortable talking to him with a range of topics such as diarrhea. Guests in their wedding include Jennifer Lawrence, Jude Apatow, Jake Gyllenhaal, Larry David, and David Spade.

I Feel Pretty revolves around Schumer's Renee, who has low self-esteem. One day, she bumped her head and wake up feeling beautiful and confident than ever. It is co-written and co-directed by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein.
