Kim Kardashian West may be a mother, makeup mogul, and reality star, but she isn't a master of everything. In fact, she sucks at wakeboarding.

Mastering A New Skill

To be fair to Kardashian West, it was her very first time trying the sport, so she may still become a champion someday. The mother of three was celebrating the Fourth of July with her family when she decided to give it a try.

The 37-year-old documented her many pratfalls at an undisclosed but scenic location at a lake in northern Idaho, for fans online.

"This is way harder than it looks!!!" Kardashian West captioned several videos of herself trying out the challenging water sport.

After several attempts to stay upright, the KKW Beauty founder finally managed to last for several seconds, gliding impressively along the water's surface.

She also shared a few glimpses at the area in general, remarking on how beautiful her surroundings were.

"Just a little slice of heaven in the middle of nowhere," she captioned a shot of her lounging waterside in a navy blue printed bikini, with her hair pulled up in two stylish braids.

Kardashian West recently came under fire for wearing a similar hairstyle at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, with several commentators criticizing her for cultural appropriation.

The reality star also shared several sweet clips of her kids hanging out on the Fourth too, including one adorable video of 5-month-old daughter Chicago, who was born by surrogate in January, and 2-year-old son Saint, cuddling up to each other.

Securing Their Livelihoods

While Kardashian West was trying to master wakeboarding and indulging in some quality family time, her sister Khloe Kardashian was back in Calabasas, throwing a barbecue with baby daddy Tristan Thompson.

The couple recently rekindled their romance in the wake of cheating allegations that had surfaced just a few days before Kardashian gave birth to their daughter, True Thompson. She's reportedly employing round-the-clock security to keep an eye on her unfaithful man as a result.

Kardashian West, meanwhile, has also stepped up her own security detail in the wake of an armed robbery in Paris in 2016.

"It's just what I have to do to make me feel safe or make me able to sleep at night. I think that had to happen after what happened in Paris," she said of the stringent new measures she's adopted following the terrifying ordeal.

Thieves made off with millions of Kardashian West's jewelry in the heist, leaving her tied up and gagged in a bathtub. The mother of three opened up on hit reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians about how she thought she was about to be raped and killed at the time.

The makeup mogul has learned her lesson since, adopting a more private, less ostentatious lifestyle in a bid to keep herself and her family safe.
