Kim Kardashian West makes her triumphant return to Paris two years after she was robbed at gunpoint.

An Emotional Trip In More Ways Than One

The KKW Beauty founder and husband Kanye West visited the city of love for the Paris Fashion Week. The stylish couple was photographed Thursday, June 21, as they made their way into the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer show.

It was Virgil Abloh's debut collection for the iconic brand, which makes their visit extra special. Abloh, West's longtime collaborator, was spotted embracing his buddy following the show.

"Thank you, Paris for the emotional trip back! I couldn't have come for a better reason," Kardashian West tweeted.

Onlookers noted that the reality star looked content on the show and that her security wasn't any more excessive than usual.

A Life-Changing Moment

It can be recalled that the Keeping up with the Kardashians star was staying in an apartment at the Hôtel de Pourtalès in October 2016 when the terrifying ordeal took place. A group of masked thieves broke in, tied Kardashian West up, held her at gunpoint, and ultimately stole almost $10 million in jewels.

Among the stolen items was her $4 million diamond engagement ring from rapper husband West. The mother of three was left tied up and gagged in a bathtub.

Kardashian West tearfully recalled her ordeal on the hit show as her sisters listened in horror. Just a few months later, 10 people were charged and another suspect was nabbed in April of this year.

The beauty mogul, who is known for being materialistic, has since opened up about how the incident taught her to be more cognizant of her online presence, and of her flashy existence in general.

"It was probably no secret, you see it on the show - me being flashy - but I was definitely materialistic before ... I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me ... I'm such a different person. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things," she told Ellen DeGeneres in April.

Focusing On Family First

She's transformed completely in the intervening months, even retreating from the spotlight entirely in the immediate aftermath. In a shocking move, Kardashian West left her social media accounts dark for three months.

"She has zero desire to resume her old life ... Her whole life has basically changed," a source confirmed at the time.

For a long time, she remained in her home in Los Angeles with West and their kids, recuperating and taking stock of her life. The reality star reportedly only left to go to her mother Kris Jenner's place.

She even kept her birthday low-key, instead of flashy blowouts that she was previously known for. She even skipped a Las Vegas appearance to stay home with her family.

Kardashian West began to step out in public only when production on KUWTK resumed. Her famous siblings made it clear that nobody was pressuring her to take part. The family at large was left shaken by the incident.

The KKW Beauty founder ultimately returned to her platforms on Jan. 3, with a family photo. She and West have since welcomed their third child, Chicago, by surrogate on Jan. 15 of this year, furthering their new focus on family first.
