Meghan Markle's family issues continue apace. The Duchess of Sussex's future sister-in-law Darlene Blount is arrested for the second time this year.

Messy Domestic Situation

Blount was arrested on suspicion of assault on Friday. The 37-year-old fiancée of Meghan's half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. was charged with assault in the fourth degree.

The police were called to the couple's home in Oregon on a domestic violence complaint. Blount was held in jail overnight before being released on bail the following morning.

Law enforcement previously attended the property on New Year's Day. Thomas Jr., 51, was involved in some kind of drunken brawl with Blount at that stage, which also landed his fiancée in jail on a charge of fourth-degree assault.

Although he initially claimed Blount had hit him, Thomas Jr. later paid her $1,000 bail and advised authorities his injuries were self-inflicted.

He later blamed his half-sister's engagement to Prince Harry for causing the argument.

"It hasn't been easy. ... It doesn't help when you have issues and your sister is engaged to royalty. It adds a whole new level of scrutiny. We've been under a lot of stress because of all the attention. At some point you find yourself drinking too much to escape the pressure," he admitted at the time.

Thomas confirmed that he and Blount would be seeking professional help for alcohol abuse and to deal with their ongoing relationship issues. Neither party attended Suits alum's wedding to Prince Harry back in May.

Taking It From All Sides

The Duchess of Sussex has been getting it from all angles lately, with her father, in particular, doing interviews with British tabloids to discuss their strained relationship in great detail.

A source close to the newly minted royal advised she's taking it pretty hard.

"She's upset ... She doesn't even know how to communicate with her dad without knowing he won't exploit her. She lives in fear that he'll leak their communication. If he's spoken this much already, why wouldn't he leak their conversation?" advised an insider.

Her half-sister Samantha recently tweeted that if Thomas Markle Sr. were to die, it would be Meghan's fault. Samantha Markle is in talks to appear on the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother, which likely won't go down well with the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth has clearly accepted Meghan into the fold as she recently gifted the newlyweds a brand new cottage to live in. The home in question is Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, formerly home to Princess Margaret's lover Peter Townsend.

They are set to move in soon, leaving Harry's home in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. There are seven-gated entrances and exits to Windsor Castle, so the new place should afford the couple the privacy they crave.
