Early this morning at 8 a.m., the Video Music Award nominations were revealed via MTV's website and on MTV'S Instagram and Vine accounts which showed the nominations for Video of the Year.

Both Justin and hip hop group Macklemore and Ryan Lewis lead the list with six nominations. Timberlake received nominations for Suit & Tie (feat. Jay-Z) and Mirrors in categories such as Best Male Video and Best Pop Video.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton) was nominated for three categories including Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing.

Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop was also nominated in three categories including Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Best Editing.

The nominations for Video of the Year, the most prestige category, include Justin Timberlake (Mirrors), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz (Thrift Shop), Bruno Mars (Locked Out of Heaven), Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell (Blurred Lines) and Taylor Swift (I Knew You Were Trouble).

This year's awards ceremony will have some major changes- one being the show taking place in New York at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, home to the Brooklyn Nets, rather than in Los Angeles. The new Moonman will also be handed out to the winners. Designed by KAWS, the reimaged award features a gun-metal finish and the famous skull-and-crossbones head.

"I wouldn¹t want to redesign it for history, I like the idea that at this moment, this first time in Brooklyn, the Moonman's going to change," KAWS said in an interview with MTV. "I like the fact that, 40 or 60 artists will win this piece, and the majority won't know anything about my work...they have their perfect chrome line of Moonmen and I've somehow ruined that symmetry."

The 2013 Video Music Awards will be broadcast on MTV on Sunday, August 25 at 8 p.m. ET.
