Now that Kate Middleton and Prince William's baby boy is finally here, the world still awaits for the announcement of Baby Cambridge's name.

Though the name has yet to make its way to the public, thousands have already banked on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge deciding on a traditional name for their son.

According to Sky Bet, George is the favorite at odds of 9/4, with James at 11/4.

Alexander, Louis and Henry also made the list of top choices for those placing bets at the bookmaker.

Despite the fact that Charles is shared by both Prince Charles and Earl Spencer, Princess Diana's brother, the name was still a contender.

Sources said that The Queen could possibly have a final say on the name, with no pressure of naming her great-grandson Charles or George.

"The Queen is so down to earth that she's not likely to jump up and down and say this boy has got to be called Charles and George. This isn't going to be 'Granny, do you approve?' but more 'These are the names we've chosen - do you like them?' It's much more of a personal thing these days," a source told the The Daily Mail.

The Duchess' own family is a likely source of name of inspiration, coming from her dad whose first name is Michael his middle name, Francis. Prince William and Middleton both have ties to Francis.

Betting shop Paddy Power noted that after Middleton's labor was announced Monday morning, the site took nearly $600,000 in royal baby-belated bets.

Betting agency Coral described the guessing of the royal name as the biggest non-sporting betting event in the company's history.

"The whole world has been waiting for Kate to go into labor and now that she has, we have witnessed another betting frenzy," said Nicola McGeady, a spokeswoman for the firm, in the hours before the birth was announced.

Middleton gave birth to a baby boy, weighing 8 lb. 6oz. Monday afternoon at St. Mary's hospital.
