Actress Jayma Mays (Emma Pillsubry) will reportedly be leaving Fox's hit TV series Glee, folllowing the close of its fifth season, as the actress has a new full-time gig on The Millers as one of Will Arnett's supporting cast members.

To back up the decision, Carter Matt stated that "there's not that much of a use for Emma with the direction that the show is taking. McKinley High is slowly becoming a thing of the past."

Mays herself had dished to Access Hollywood about her future departure and her uncertainty over which route the show will take moving forward from that point on.

"This is going to be my last season ... I'm finishing up this season, so I'm not sure what direction and who's coming on and who's not," she said.

While the Emma character isn't expected to be present in either of the program's first two episodes of the upcoming installment, she'll undoubtedly be present for the late Cory Monteith's (Finn) tribute episode, which will be airing on Oct. 10.

Season 5 of Glee had was initially set to return on Thursday, Sept. 19, but will now come back at some point in November, in lieu of Monteith's death. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details. Mays can be seen below at a the Smurfs 2 World Film premiere.
