In the court documents obtained by the outlet, Burke noted that they broke up on January 7 and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.

At the time of this writing, there are no further details why they split.

It appears that their separation was sudden as Burke just spoke about expanding their family a few months before she filed for divorce.

Per Showbiz Cheat Sheet, the couple wanted to have children, but the professional dancer wasn't sure if it was the perfect time to do as she's busy with her career.

In an interview with The Tamron Hall Show in September, she noted how the famed dancing show was a "huge accomplishment" for her, and she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity.

However, she's not like other women who "had babies and can just bounce back."

The reason behind it is that she knew her body and mental health. She adds, "if I have this body image issue that I'm dealing with, again, if this [my head] is not okay I can't perform."

In a separate interview, Burke revealed to Witney Carson in an episode of "Jaded! Allenated!" that she will wait another year to try having a baby and plan to freeze her eggs for the future.

Cheryl Burke, Matthew Lawrence's Relationship

Per the outlet, the couple met during the third season of "Dancing With the Stars" as her husband's brother, Joey Lawrence, was a contestant of the show.

They reportedly dated in 2007, but the relationship didn't last. About a decade later, they reunited and decided to get married in 2019 after getting engaged a year prior.

The last time the pair got together for a picture was in December 2021, where she greeted her followers with a Merry Christmas along with Lawrence and their dog.
