It's not surprising, after seeing The Batman, to hear that everyone is raving about Zoe Kravitz's performance as Selina Kyle, AKA Catwoman. She had a major role in this first film opposite Robert Pattinson, and she is able to hold her own in a way that no Catwoman before her has ever done. Batman isn't something that just happens to her in this film - if anything, she happens to him.

There's a thousand reasons to love Zoe Kravitz's version of this iconic character. We'll avoid getting into specifics to avoid spoilers, but honestly, we don't even really need to, because she already has the most glowing endorsement she could possibly recieve - praise from two former Catwomen, Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.

Pfeiffer starred as Catwoman opposite Michael Keaton in Tim Burton's Batman Returns in 1992; Berry, meanwhile, played Catwoman in a standalone film in 2004 - and both women made sure to congratulate their new peer for her outstanding performance in the film, each adding a comment to her recent Instagram post.

Actress Anne Hathaway, who played Kyle in the Dark Knight trilogy opposite Christian Bale, also extended her congratulations to Kravitz years ago, when she initially landed the role.

But former Catwomen aren't the only cred Kravitz has under her belt now: The queen of all cat ladies, Taylor Swift, has also been raving about the version of Selina Kyle she saw in The Batman. The singer wrote on her Instagram story: "@zoeisabellakravitz is the Catwoman of my dreams. The Batman was phenomenal!!!"

Swift may, admittedly, be a little bit biased - she and Kravitz are close friends, and they even shared a quarantine bubble in London during Covid, while the actress was actively working on the movie. Still, who can blame her for praising her good friend after seeing all her hard work pay off?

You can see what all the fuss is about in Matt ReevesThe Batman, in theaters now.
