Aaron Rodgers cleared the buzz surrounding his name and future with Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers' fans felt worried and excited at the same time as multiple reports about his future with Green Bay Packers emerged. It all began when Ian Rapoport tweeted that the MVP quarterback officially returned to the team after securing a four-year, $200 million deal.

It would then make him the highest-paid player in NFL history. He reportedly got $153 million guaranteed, as well.

"The #Packers and MVP QB Aaron Rodgers have agreed to terms on a 4-year, $200M deal that makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history, sources say. He gets a whopping $153M guaranteed and his cap number goes down. A monstrous commitment by GB for years to come," he wrote.

But that does not seem to be the case at all.

Aaron Rodgers Sets the Record Straight

Following Rapoport's tweet, Pat McAfee replied and said that the report was false. He also clarified through his Twitter account that Rodgers would be back to the Green Bay Packers, but the parties have no deal in place as of press time.

McAfee added that, although Rodgers indeed considered retirement, the quarterback made a U-turn and came back with the Pack ahead of the arrival of a cap-friendly deal.

Rodgers himself shared a similar post, saying that he would return to the Packers in the next season but adding that the part about signing a contract was inaccurate.

"Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the @packers next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I "signed". I'm very excited to be back. #year18," he said.

The new development came after the athlete shared words of gratitude for having the chance to be in the QB room every day. His post immediately sparked retirement buzzes and not a career continuation.

Fortunately, his recent post took fans' worries away.

Rodgers' retirement would leave a massive impact on Green Bay Packers, as he was the one who helped the team to their first Super Bowl win in 2010 since 1996. Although he has yet to win another Super Bowl, he has been constantly showing commendable performance on the field that he has been named NFL MVP in 2011, 2014, 2020, and 2021.
