Ready for an action-packed Christmas? As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the rapper Kid Cudi has been cast in John Woo's upcoming action thriller "Silent Night." This role follows a starring turn in Ti West's A24 horror feature "X."

With a cast led by Joel Kinnaman, "Silent Night" follows Kinnaman's Godlock, "a father on a mission to avenge his young son who was tragically caught in the crossfire of gang violence on Christmas Eve. Shot and nearly killed while in pursuit of the murderers, Godlock vows to avenge his son by any means necessary."

Kid Cudi is set to play Detective Dennis Vassel in a cast that also comprises Harold Torres and Catalina Sandino Moreno. The film is currently in production in Mexico City and has a well-tested action team behind it, including "John Wick" production company Thunder Road Films and Capstone Studios.

"Silent Night" isn't the only film-related move Kid Cudi has made recently. Outside of appearing in "X," the rapper is also set to star in and make a directorial debut with "Teddy," a feature he's directing for Netflix. Kid Cudi also has Jay-Z and "The Harder They Fall" director Jeymes Samuels attached to produce.

We're looking forward seeing how Kid Cudi's film career develops! His collaboration with John Woo, who's known for his stylized action, will be one to watch for sure.
