R. Kelly is apparently attempting to have the guilty judgment overturned, and he even mentions Matt Lauer in his appeal.

Not only is the disgraced singer listed in court records acquired by Radar Online, but so is the late Fox News chairman, Roger Ailes.

Kelly seeks to persuade a judge to give him an acquittal or a new trial.

In his sex trafficking trial last year, the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer was convicted guilty on all charges. He is said to be the leader of a criminal group that recruits young women to assault.

Despite the fact that multiple victims have come forward, with some even testifying in his trial, Kelly maintains that he did nothing wrong to the women.

He also accused them of being publicity-hungry and that they were prepared to say anything for the sake of fame.

During the trial, his victims spoke about the alleged abuse he subjected all of the ladies to. But that was more than enough to persuade the jurors.

R. Kelly faces life in prison if the court sentences him to life in prison in the impending sentencing, which has yet to occur.

Kelly contends in a recent court filing that the government failed to fulfill the conditions for bringing a RICO case against him, which would enable the authorities to prosecute anyone with racketeering even if they did not do the crime themselves.

The "Ignition Remix" hitmaker claims that the circumstances of the case are not even close to what is known as a RICO. He also said that if the government's theory were used in other instances, both NBC and Fox News would be labeled RICO companies due to the "repeatedly poor behavior of Matt Lauer and Roger Ailes."

Lauer, a former NBC news anchor, was accused of frequently harassing and abusing female coworkers while traveling for business, according to Kelly's counsel.

"According to the government's reasoning, any of Lauer's helpers, handlers, and drivers might qualify as members of an enterprise for RICO purposes if they even unintentionally supported Lauer's criminal sexual activity."

Matt Lauer was fired by the network in 2017 after an inquiry was completed.

Kelly is now accusing the government of targeting him more aggressively than others because of his color.

"Of course, the government has demonstrated no desire to deploy its aggressive RICO theory against powerful White males," his petition continues.

Kelly's request makes a few additional grounds for why the singer should be acquitted, but prosecutors continue to disagree to the singer's conviction.
