Rihanna Shares ‘Unusual’ Cravings Amid Pregnancy – But Says It’s Traditional

Rihanna opened up about her pregnancy journey, including her food cravings, in Vogue's May cover story.

Before the arrival of her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, Rihanna is going through pregnancy cravings that make her journey more exciting. In her new interview with Vogue, the 34-year-old, soon-to-be-mother shared one "unusual" food craving which is actually traditional in her home country.

According to Rihanna, she enjoys her stay at home by eating a lot of tangerines after sprinkling them with salt. The "unexpected" combination is reportedly normal in Barbados.

"It has to be with salt and only with salt, because in Barbados we take our fruits to the ocean and soak them. Trust me, it really is a thing," she said, PEOPLE quoted. "I usually hate desserts, but all of a sudden you come close to me with a chocolate-covered donut and you've got my heart forever."

Rihanna will soon give birth to her first baby with A$AP Rocky. The fashion mogul announced her pregnancy by showing off her growing baby bump during New York City outing in January.

Rihanna's Pregnancy Was NOT Planned

Elsewhere in the interview, the "Anti" hitmaker revealed that her pregnancy was not actually planned. Still, they certainly were not planning against it either.

"I don't know when I ovulate or any of that type of s---. We just had fun," she said. "And then it was just there on the test. I didn't waste any time. I called him inside and showed him. Then I was in the doctor's office the next morning and our journey began."

Rihanna reportedly thought that she should be married first before having the baby. But after learning about her pregnancy, she shrugged off that thought and started her motherhood journey.

In addition, she purportedly made it clear she would not go shopping in the maternity aisle. Instead of changing her style, Rihanna chose to dress as usual and be in public with the same type of dresses she wears when she is not yet pregnant.

Still, her stylist seemingly loses sleep as she demands to maintain her pre-pregnancy looks.

Despite ditching maternity clothes, she surprised everyone when she sported a sheer black naked dress at the Dior Autumn-Winter 2022 show during the Paris Fashion Week.

Amid all these, the "Umbrella" hitmaker expressed her hope that she has been able to redefine what "decent" clothing is for pregnant women.
