What happened to Tyra Banks?

The controversial presenter seems to be stepping away from her social media account after receiving backlash from a number of Twitter users.

On Monday, they discovered that Tyra's Twitter account had been deactivated without warning.

When she searches for her name on the site, it reads, "This account does not exist," according to Radar.

Though she maintains an Instagram account, it is solely utilized for promotional photos and videos, like as her current collaboration with Kim Kardashian's SKIMS.

While it's unclear why Tyra deactivated her Twitter account, Insider writer Kate Taylor reports that the supermodel deleted her account around the same time she began reaching out with questions about the harsh criticism "America's Next Top Model" received after the show aired on Amazon Prime during the pandemic.

Tyra Banks 'ANTM' Drama

Several viewers have criticized the program for the countless occasions Tyra Banks and other producers overstepped their bounds when it came to photoshoot ideas and participant treatment.

"Tyra Banks wanted 'America's Next Top Model' to repair fashion," Kate wrote for the publication in an exposé headlined "Tyra Banks wanted 'America's Next Top Model' to fix fashion."

"Now, several participants allege the program was psychological warfare," she tweeted, adding, "Tyra Banks deleted her Twitter when I sought out for comment + fact check last week." (It might be completely unrelated! Who knows!)."

Over 30 different women allegedly revealed their terrible experiences on the program, which debuted in 2003.

According to a former staffer, the show's purpose is not to promote women or provide them legitimate modeling opportunities, but rather to "throw them against one other in a barrel full of crabs all trying to claw their way out."

Other allegations include past model competitors passing out during shooting, and many of them have suffered from mental health concerns after starring on the program.

Backlash on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Aside from the exposé and the negative publicity that has surrounded the reality program for years, viewers are also blaming Tyra Banks for moving "Dancing With the Stars" from ABC to Disney+ next season.

Since the producers revealed the decision last week, fans of the program have been outraged.

Tyra's days as the presenter of the famous dance reality program seem to be limited, as producers are seeking for an "A-list star" to replace her since she was a "nightmare" to deal with.
