Queen Elizabeth II maintained her stoicism after losing her beloved husband and greatest partner, Prince Philip.

A year after Prince Philip's death, Queen Elizabeth II attended the memorial service for her husband at Westminster Abbey despite her unspecified mobility issues. Even during the recent event, the Queen remained stoic, just like she did during the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.

Angela Kelly's book, "The Other Side of the Coin, The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe," recently revealed Her Majesty's heartbreaking "private moments" hours after Prince Philip was laid to rest. According to Kelly, she waited for Queen Elizabeth II in her dressing room until she returned from the service, and she saw how devastated Her Majesty was that day.s

"I helped her off with her coat and hat and no words were spoken. The Queen then walked to her sitting room, closed the door behind her, and she was alone with her own thoughts," she said, as quoted by Express UK.

Kelly currently works as the Queen's personal advisor and curator. She was also isolated with her during the COVID-19 pandemic. With that, she was there to witness what happened inside the Palace after Prince Philip died.

Queen Elizabeth II's Supporters Slam Media For Reporting About Her Majesty's Reaction

Aside from Queen Elizabeth II spending her time alone, she also shed tears during her husband's funeral. However, multiple news outlets reported that did not cry throughout the procession since the head of state should reportedly observe stoicism no matter what heartbreaking event comes in.

Royal fans immediately shared their thoughts over unfair journalism, with most of them asking the reporters to let the royal family mourn in peace.

Her Majesty cried during the ceremony, but the cameras failed to cover that due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Meanwhile, a photographer from the Royal Central appeared to have captured Queen Elizabeth II wiping away her tear as she drove away from Prince Philip's resting place.

The reports came out as they mentioned how Queen Elizabeth II has been known for keeping her emotions inside and maintaining her composure. Still, she has been seen being emotional in public multiple times.

For instance, she reportedly wept in public during the decommissioning of the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Royal commentator Rachel Bowie told the "Royally Obsessed" podcast, "I love the use that they got out of it. It was decommissioned in 1997. I think it was just such a part of so many family memories for the entire royal clan."
