Kim Kardashian wasn't honored as a fashion icon if she showed up at the Met wearing a piece that didn't stand out among the crowd. This year, the reality star did not disappoint as she wore one of the most important dresses in history; however, there's a major secret that she covered up.

According to Daily Mail UK, the "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" museum lends the mom of four the exact dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she was still alive.

The museum took to social media to share a behind the scenes footage of the SKIMS founder seeing the dress and fitting it for the first time.

"I'm just so grateful that we went for the opportunity," the entrepreneur said.

Protecting the prestigious archive from being damaged, a group of people wearing gloves helped Kardashian fit the dress onto her curvaceous body.

Although the dress perfectly fit her physique, there was a significant problem as they couldn't zip the back part.

Kardashian's style team had a "eureka!" moment when they realized they could tie the back and cover it with something, which explains why she was wearing white fur outerwear at the event.

"Oh my god! Yeah, we can use that tie and tie tit, and keep it open?" the TV star said.

Aside from the short mishap, Kardashian also revealed she forced herself to lose weight in a few weeks for the dress to fit.

"I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn't starve myself, but I was so strict," she told Vogue Magazine.

Marilyn Monroe's beaded gown initially cost her $1,440. It is considered one of the most important dresses in the world as it later got sold in an auction for a whopping $4.81 million, making it one of the most expensive pieces of fashion.

There was also a rumor that the 50s sex symbol had to be sewn into the dress before performing her iconic "Happy Birthday" song in front of former President John F. Kennedy.

Even though the Kardashian family is known to flaunt their bodies wearing little-to-none clothing, at the time, the dress was considered controversial.

"In a sense, it's the original naked dress. That's why it was so shocking," the KKW Beauty founder said.
