One of the biggest stories to come out of the WWE yet is far from scripted.

WWE's head honcho Vince McMahon is stepping down from his position as the wrestling giant's Chairman and CEO due to an investigation about "alleged executive misconduct" along with head of talent relations John Laurinaitis being handled by the board of directors. The role of CEO will be filled by Stephanie McMahon, daughter of the accused.

This all stems from allegations that McMahon paid $3 million under the table to a former female employee with whom he was having an affair with, according to The Wall Street Journal. And this is supposedly not the first time this has happened.

McMahon said in a press release:

"I have pledged my complete cooperation to the investigation by the special committee, and I will do everything possible to support the investigation. I have also pledged to accept the findings and outcome of the investigation, whatever they are."

Also in the press release, he will be allowed to continue his role and responsibilities in terms of WWE creative content during the investigation.

Stephanie McMahon gave a statement of her own:

"[It is] extremely important that we have a safe and collaborative workplace. I have committed to doing everything in my power to help the special committee complete its work, including marshaling the cooperation of the entire company to assist in the completion of the investigation and to implement its findings."

According to the WSJ, the money was from McMahon's personal account, but after further investigation, several older NDA's came to light from former female employees who had issues with both McMahon and Laurinaitis

This has led to an independent third party investigator to help with the review, which WWE has said they will work alongside to sort out the matter.
