People are thinking that the Kardashian-Jenner family faked the season one finale of their new Hulu series The Kardashians, and this is why.

Here's the thing about reality television, The world knows it is not entirely real. There is an understanding that moments have to be dramatized or reenacted, certain things have to be at least somewhat manufactured in order to make the show entertaining. (You're telling me that, according to the cameras, the Real Housewives never just have a day where they eat snacks and nothing happens?)

However, with this understanding that SOME elements are fabricated, viewers like to transport themselves to the world in which it is all new and exciting.

It's like a magic show: While there is a understanding that magicians are playing tricks on the audience, the audience is determined to believe it is magic. They don't go out seeking answers.

That is why, when something is OBVIOUSLY faked on reality television, the world has a lot to say in response. We already know it's fake, so the least they could do is cover it well enough that we can still suspend disbelief.

The Kardashians didn't.

In this closer of season one, it was pointed out that the final meeting with the family appeared to have been filmed weeks after it was dated in the show.

In the scene, the family was meeting up to discuss the Tristan Thompson paternity scandal. However, fans noticed that Kourtney was wearing the black jumpsuit that she had been spotted wearing out to dinner on January first, alongside the same exact nail polish. This dates this meeting long after the show suggested it should have taken place.

It would be fine if the meeting simply took place at a later time - however, within the discussion it was said that Khloe was too upset to meet with the family. Meanwhile, pictures of the star with her family at Christmas had literally just been seen by the world.

The magician's hand certainly slipped with this episode of The Kardashians. That does not mean we are going to stop binge watching it, but a callout was deserved.
