THE SWIFT HAS SPOKEN!

Of course, Swifties were not entirely caught off guard by this song release. In the days leading up to the new Swiftian insta-hit, the phenom was dropping some key clues on Instagram that only the truest Swiftie Sleuths would have seen. This was especially hidden because it was posted in various pictures on the @crawdadsmovie Instagram account. In the secrative post, fans noticed that the bold letters in the multiple captions spelled out, "Carolina This Thursday."

Where the Crawdads Sings is a book that is much loved by the singer herself. In the Instagram post she shared after the song had been released she wrote:

"Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago. As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side. I wrote the song "Carolina" alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story. You'll hear it fully soon, but for now check out the @crawdadsmovie trailer for a clip!"

We can't wait to see Where the Crawdads Sing on July 15th.
