Theory:Taylor Swifthas not released her new album yet because she didn't want to steal the spotlight from boyfriend Joe Alwyn, whose new show Conversations with Friends just premiered on Hulu.
It makes sense doesn't it?
Swifties have been on the edge of their seats, getting teardrops all over their guitars, waiting desperately for a new album release, a new announcement, or SOMETHING from the singer.
Many thought she would wink at the news at this year's Met Gala: not a word (or an appearane).
Everyone was convinced something big was going to break on Friday the 13th: no such luck.
While there is no doubt that the singer is having fun playing with all of our emotions (like, cruel but fair), she's been holding out for a while. I think i know why.
While Alwyn has taken part in several other amazing projects, includingHarrietandMary Queen of Scotts, Conversations with Friendshas the potential to be Alwyn's true claim to fame-- especially in light of the major success of the Hulu adaptation of Sally Rooney's other work Normal People.
"I was very aware of how loved Sally is...I've read all her books right when they came out, and was a huge fan of Normal Peoplethe show."
It is an undeniably incredible opportunity for the actor.
DO YOU REALIZE HOW SH***Y IT WOULD BE, AS HIS GIRLFRIEND, TO TAKE ALL OF THE ATTENTION RIGHT NOW?!?!
Given the overwhelming power of Taylor Swift, if she released a new album even the month before Conversations with Friends, it would still be all anyone would be able to talk about.
Now, I'm not saying that she needs to *dull her sparkle* for him or any of that nonsense, but this is just common courtesy. If your friend planned a party, would you then turn around and plan a party on the same night? NO WAY!
We haven't heard anythign from Taylor because she is out in the world being a considerate person. (Which is, YET AGAIN, cruel but fair.)

So, Swifites; my guess? We are not going to have an announcement from Taylor until around June 15th- approximately a month after Conversations with Friends was first released.
(Maybe if we all go watch Conversations with Friends really quickly now she will announce something sooner!)
