Is Savannah Guthrie attempting to exert authority over Hoda Kotb?

A body language specialist examined the supposed adversaries' on-screen relationship after stories of them arguing behind the scenes.

According to Patti Wood of The Sun, Savannah appears to try to dominate Hoda based on their tense live segment last week on "Today."

Patti observed a lot about the co-hosts' chemistry when they paired up for an awkward cookery segment last week.

"Savannah indicates that she feels she is the grown-up, the parent, and in charge and thinks the laughing lighthearted Hoda is not paying heed to the rules," she explained of the brief moment.

Elizabeth Heiskell, a cookbook author, was on hand to guide the two through a salad preparation.

Al Roker and Craig Melvin sat at a table with Yankees players as Savannah and Hoda tried to help in the kitchen.

Meanwhile, viewers saw that the episode had taken a dramatic and unpleasant turn.

While the chef was speaking and Savannah was preparing a salad, Hoda approached the table and inquired, "Wait, are we done?"

"Yeah, that's it," Savannah said. Now, let's go on. We'll simply keep going. We don't have time for all of that," he says dismissively in front of Hoda, cutting short the chef's speech.

Viewers who observed the episode heard Hoda nervously chuckling in the background as she took a dish for a sample while Savannah Guthrie mixed the salad.

However, the body language expert observed Savannah looking straight at the chef and speaking to her while reaching out with her palm and patting in front of her to stop her, even flicking her fingers to move her forward.

Hoda, on the other hand, appeared to have rejected Savannah's instruction and lowered her head as if she was doing something bad, such as tasting it. She was also perceived as little uptight, but she responded with a nervous and joyful chuckle.

Patti believes it demonstrates how Savannah Guthrie behaves more like the parents who believe "playful Hoda" isn't following the rules.

"On the DISC personality scale, Savannah is a Corrector who likes to do things right."

This comes after multiple reports and fans observed Hoda Kotb ignoring Savannah Guthrie during Lizzo's latest live performance earlier this week.

After her performance, Hoda enthusiastically grabbed the "Juice" singer's hand and led her into the crowd, but while she and Lizzo had their moment, viewers noted she didn't wait for Savannah to join them.

Instead, he and their co-anchors, Dylan Dreyer and Craig Melvin, followed them down the stairs.
