Savannah Guthrie has proven that she is the "boss."

After oversleeping and coming on set 20 minutes before the morning program was scheduled to run, the "Today" show co-anchor pushed employees into a frenzy.

However, a source told Page Six that Savannah did it on purpose to keep NBC guessing.

They elaborated, "She is demonstrating who is in charge and that they cannot do the performance without her. When Savannah fails to show up for work, NBC News dispatches the full force to find out where she is."

The TV journalist isn't even permitted to go "off the grid," according to the source, since "what if there was breaking news?"

They also stated that producers, assistants, executives, hair and makeup artists, and security were all waiting for her to arrive and that if she was even one minute late, everyone would notice.

"Code red if she's more than ten minutes late."

According to the source, there is always a morning meeting before the "Today" show airs.

If Savannah Guthrie isn't even there at that moment, the crew goes insane, and someone is already dispatched to break down her door.

Despite getting picked up at 4 a.m. every day, the former "Jeopardy!" guest host rolled out of bed and arrived to the NBC studio by 6:40 a.m. for Thursday's broadcast.

She opened up about the slip-up on social media, revealing that 15 minutes ago, she had no hair or makeup.

"It was terrible," Savannah continued, "but some miraculous people upstairs rolled me in, and I'm extremely thrilled to be here."

Though NBC workers and her helpers helped Savannah get dressed fast, reports persist that Savannah is disrespectful to them and frequently ignores them.

According to OK magazine, she was chatting on her phone as her hair and beauty crews were hard at work, neglecting to make eye contact with them and forgetting to say thank you once done.

Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb 'Feud'

Meanwhile, another source informed Page Six that Savannah's delay might be related to recent reports regarding her alleged feud with Hoda Kotb.

Savannah, who worked as NBC's White House reporter, apparently sees herself as the top news anchor on "Today," while Hoda is more popular with viewers.

According to the insider, the duo is "extremely uncomfortable" when they are next to each other, with Savannah being so upset that she screamed out at producers when her co-anchor was brought into the show's first hour because she wanted to be the "Queen Bee."

Savannah and Hoda also have some "underlying competitiveness," which makes it tough for them to appear to be on good terms in front of the camera.
