Many fans supported Demi Lovato when she came out as non-binary last year and explained that she preferred "they/them" pronouns. Recently, the singer made a big change as she further expounded how people should address her today.

Speaking to the "Spout" podcast with Tamara Dhia, the "Substance" hitmaker revealed the deep reason why she added "she/her" to her pronouns on Instagram.

When asked to explain how she adopted her new pronouns, the 29-year-old actress said she's a "fluid person" and she felt that her masculine and feminine energy were balanced last year.

However, she faced one of the biggest challenges which is choosing which bathroom to enter, the men's or women's side.

"I didn't feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn't feel necessarily like a woman. I didn't feel like a man. I just felt like a human," she added. (via People Magazine)

For her, it is the epitome of what "they/them" is all about, feeling human within herself.

In recent months, the former Disney star said she's been feeling more feminine, making her add "she/her" pronouns again.

"I think what's important is, like, nobody's perfect. Everyone messes up pronouns at some point, and especially when people are learning. It's just all about respect," she added.

The recent change comes more than a year after she launched her podcast "4D with Demi Lovato" where she came out as non-binary or gender non-conforming.

She revealed that she's been doing some self-reflecting about herself and while doing it, she realized a major thing about her gender.

The "Made In The USA" songstress feels like "they/them" pronouns best represent her personality especially in her gender expression as it allows her to "to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am, and am still discovering."

Lovato continued advocating for non-binary rights as she educated fans about her pronouns as many of them misgendered her, saying it's okay to forget how to address her properly because it's difficult to remember.

However, she clarified that it's valid when people are trying to respect her truth.

She concluded her tweet by expressing her gratitude, saying she's thankful for her fans' efforts in trying to remember her pronouns and it means a lot to her healing process.
