Fans of White Collar will be given a shorter season than usual when season 5 premieres this fall.

The show's fifth season will only consist of 13 episodes, announced Aug. 1 by USA Network Senior Vice President of Research Ted Linhart. He tweeted that the decision to cut the usual 16 episodes down to 13 was to accommodate for showrunner David Eastin's schedule. Eastin is working on another USA show, Graceland, while running White Collar.

Two of the show's cast members are directing episodes for the upcoming season. Willie Garson, who plays Mozzie on the show, is directing episode 7 of season 5. The eccentric actor/director tweeted this picture of himself on Aug. 1 with the caption, "I dont know, this directing gig is doing the weirdest things to my body....":

Tim DeKay, who plays Peter Burke on the show, will direct episode 12 of the season. The actor tweeted on Friday to one of his fan accounts that he was "very excited" to shoot the penultimate episode of the season.

USA Network released cast photos for White Collar season 5 over the weekend. The photos feature DeKay, Garson, Matt Bomer (who plays Neal Cafferty), Tiffani Thiessen (Elizabeth Burke), Marsha Thomason (Diana Berrigan) and Sharif Atkins (Clinton Jones).

Spoilers for the new season have been relatively scarce over the past month, but Entertainment Weekly released one new piece of information in late July. The publication revealed that Neal and Peter would be on a case involving a missing Tyrannosaurus Rex in the new season. It is unknown which episode will include the missing dinosaur.

White Collar premieres its fifth season in October on the USA network. A specific date has not yet been announced.
