The cast members of "Don't Worry Darling," Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, have already created a sensation online owing to their conflicts with director Olivia Wilde.

As if that wasn't enough, another scandal shook the movie and its stars when a video of the former One Direction singer seeming to spit on his co-actor Chris Pine went viral.

After witnessing the video, social media fans went into a frenzy, studying and wondering frame by frame if the "As It Was" hitmaker spit on the "Wonder Woman" star.

In the video, Styles bends down to take his seat for their film's screening at the Venice Film Festival. Pine twitched his lips before looking down at his slacks and shook his head slightly, pretending to chuckle, before pulling his sunglasses between his legs.

Pine then appeared amused as the pop singer sat next to him.

Despite viewing the film from two to three different perspectives, it is unclear if Styles did it on purpose or if saliva was flowing out of his mouth at the time.

However, one day after spitgate, Chris Pine's spokesperson downplayed the situation, insisting that no spitting occurred.

They even called the allegation "crazy" and said it was a pure fiction.

Per People magazine, "Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine," the rep added.

Body Language Expert Chimes in on Spitgate

Harry Styles allegedly spit on Chris Pine, according to his representative.

A body language specialist has now stated that the viral video is deceptive.

Pine would have to be a "master of self-control," according to Judi James who spoke to the Daily Mail, if the "Watermelon Sugar" singer pulled off the prank.

She added that just by looking at Pine's body language, she can detect that he quickly halted to gaze down in astonishment.

"It is a brief moment before he grins again, chewing on some gum himself, and grabs the pen up before closing his eyes in a long blink."

Styles, according to James, proceeded to fumble with his jacket and flung himself into his seat to play with his phone.

She went on to say of Pine, "If he can be spat on and just require a long blink to hold his feelings and regulate himself from what for most would be a reflexive reaction of rage and horror, then he is an outstanding man."

However, the expert feels that no spitting occurred. Instead, she speculated that Pine may have seen the pen on his lap and "marked his cream clothing," or that he may have "reacted to Styles' apparent neglect of both himself and Wilde."

It was also believed that Pine's reaction was caused by his fumbling with his sunglasses, which were put between his knees.

Fans, according to James, should not blame Styles based only on this proof until he or his co-star relates. "It's probably safer to think it was a skewed footage."
