The contents of a new memoir exposing the "Church of Scientology" contain some juicy tidbits about A-list celebrities.

The book "A Billion Years: My Escape From a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology," written by high-ranking church defector Mike Rinder, was released today.

When the author was five years old, his parents began taking him to their neighborhood center. He signed a billion-year contract after graduating from high school and joined the Church's elite inner circle, the Sea Organization. He departed in 2007.

Here are some of the shocking revelations in the book.

John Travolta Kisses Male Masseur

Rinder recounted conversing with John Travolta in a hotel suite when the actor's masseuse, who was dressed in a bathrobe, stepped into the room and kissed him on the lips.

"'I'll be in shortly,'" Travolta was supposed to say as the masseur entered the bedroom.

Rinder described his actions in front of a top Scientology official as "astonishing."

"I suppose that was a reflection of his faith in me."

Scientology Wants To Keep Tom Cruise Happy

According to the memoir, the Church of Scientology is so anxious to keep Tom Cruise pleased that they would go to nearly any extent.

This includes lavish expenditures and even assisting him in divorcing his wife.

The action actor was smitten with Nicole Kidman while they were filming "Days of Thunder," but he was still married to Mimi Rogers, the woman who brought him to Scientology.

So it became the Church's job to remove Rogers out of the picture and assist Cruise in marrying Kidman.

Another Church official was dispatched to force Rogers to agree to divorce the "Mission Impossible" star in order to marry Kidman, saying that this was "very rare and would never have occurred a normal Scientologist."

Tom Cruise Built Professional-Grade Soccer Pitch to Impress David Beckham

The Church created a soccer field for Cruise to show off to David Beckham because he was so eager to bring other celebrities to Scientology.

"It was built for one purpose only: so Tom Cruise could woo his friend David to come to Gold. It never happened," Rinder said in the book.

Tom Cruise Almost Quit Scientology

While filming "Eyes Wide Shut" in 1997, Cruise began to drift away from the Church. He allegedly refused calls from Scientology leader David Miscavage, causing the latter to send another top church officer to audit him.

The audit was a procedure in which the person was guided through events in their life in order to alleviate negativity and achieve a state of "clear."

In the end, Rinder stated that Cruise was "gradually dragged back into the world of Scientology," although this apparently produced a schism between Cruise and Kidman.
