Many fans have been rejoicing over the teaser of the "Super Mario Bros." movie because of its 3D animation and cute characters from your favorite childhood videogame and voice actor Keegan-Michael Key teased supporters over a special musical number.

Speaking to Variety, the actor confirmed that his character, Toad, will be having an improvised song in the movie which he considers an "absolute blast." He also noted that he enjoyed doing "the whole thing."

Regarding how he prepared his voice for the role, the comedian revealed that he worked with his partner to try and find the right note for him to be accurate throughout the movie.

He later consulted with directors Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath to "sprinkle some things" and move around.

Whenever he discusses the voice of his character, Key cracked a joke regarding himself being a "theater f****** actor nerd" because of the role's timbre.

He also wanted the voice to be higher and higher, but they eventually settled on something that he was satisfied with.

Upcoming 'Mario' Movie Secretly a Musical?

Many people have been speculating about the possibility of "Super Mario Bros." containing a few musical sequences throughout the animated film.

Jack Black, the man behind Bowser's voice, confirmed at New York Comic Con that he "did a little bit of rocking" by browsing through his heavy metal roots.

He described his character as a "strong and scary rockstar."

"I think you'll be surprised to see that Bowser has a musical side. After the movie comes out, I might take it to Broadway," he shared. 

'Mario' Movie Gets Backlash Over Chris Pratt's Voice

Ever since the trailer for the upcoming Nintendo movie came out, many online users have been roasting Chris Pratt's voice on social media even though the teaser only featured two lines from him.

Some fans noticed that his voice sounds similar to his speaking voice and many alleged that he didn't sound like Mario at all.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe actor previously spoke to the outlet about him being the voice actor behind the iconic videogame character, saying he worked hard and closely with the directors and after trying out new things, he was proud of his work.

"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" will hit theaters on April 7, 2023.
