Olivia Wilde sets the record straight on parenting amidst accusations that she has been neglecting her children.

Actress-director Olivia Wilde's career dates back to 2003 when she appeared in the television series "Skin". After making her way as a Hollywood star, she, later on, made her directorial debut with "Booksmart" in 2019 and "Don't Worry Darling" this year.

Olivia Slams Back at Parenting Accusations

In a recent cover story interview with Elle magazine, Olivia Wilde talked about her latest projects and reactions to controversy surrounding her. When asked about her motherhood journey amidst her busy schedule as a director, the 38 year old star elaborated on her co-parenting situation with Jason Sudeikis.

"I share custody of my kids with my ex," Wilde explained to Elle magazine. "If I'm photographed not with my kids, people assume I have abandoned them, like my kids are just somewhere in a hot car without me."

Additionally, the director called out speculations on her neglecting her kids as they are rarely seen in the spotlight and reveals that she has been purposely hiding them from the paparazzi in an attempt to protect them.

"The suggestion is that I have abandoned my role as a mother. You know why you don't see me with my kids? Because I don't let them get photographed. Do you know the lengths that I go to to protect my kids from being seen by you?" Olivia called out to the paparazzis.

Co-parenting Amidst Divorce with Jason Sudeikis

In 2020, Wilde and her former partner Jason Sudeikis announced their split, revealing that they have secretly broken off their engagement at the start of 2020 but had kept it under wraps until the end of the year. The former pair's relationship dates back to as early as 2013.

In a controversial moment during this year's CinemaCon, Wilde was served an envelope containing legal papers amidst her custody battle with actor Jason Sudeikis on-stage while she was discussing her latest film, "Don't Worry Darling".

Following the "vicious" incident, Wilde and Sudeikis have landed on a split custody arrangement when it comes to co-parenting their children, Otis Sudeikis who is 8 years old, and Daisy Josephine Sudeikis who is 6 years old. Wilde told Variety that she is doing what she can to be present for her kids, having them go "back and forth" between her and Jason Sudeikis.
