Kate Middleton, Prince William and King Charles didn't let the recent controversy from "Endgame" hold them back from doing their royal duties.

The King kicked off his visit to the United Arab Emirates for the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) Thursday. His Majesty's trip began two days after Omid Scobie's book "Endgame" was released. The Dutch version of the publication named him and his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, as the alleged racist royals.

Rebecca English, Daily Mail's royal editor and a frequent contributor to the "Palace Confidential" podcast, was among the press covering King Charles' international visit. In a tweet, she said King Charles "brushed off the ongoing royal race row stoked by Omid Scobie's new book." The monarch is reportedly focused on his work. He flew to Dubai to give a keynote speech and met with Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"Asked how he was, His Majesty said: 'I'm all right very much, just about. Having had a rather ancient birthday recently recovering from the shock of that!'" English shared in a separate post on X, formerly Twitter.

The Princess of Wales was also business as usual despite the accusations. Middleton and Prince William made an appearance at the annual Royal Variety Performance in London on Thursday. The future King looked dapper in his black velvet tuxedo, while the Duchess of Cornwall was gorgeous in her blue evening gown with cape sleeves by Safiyaa.

When the royal couple was about to walk the red carpet, a reporter yelled, "Your Royal Highness, have you got a comment about Omid Scobie's book?" Prince William and Middleton ignored the question and continued walking.

The incident was captured in a video and shared on Instagram. Several praised the royal couple for how they handled the encounter.

"They are royals. They do not stop at the red carpet to answer the questions. That is [a] job for celebrities," one commented. Another added, "Beautiful couple. They have spent many years ignoring paps who yelled questions at them, Prince William has done so his whole life, this isn't any different."

"Wonderful true Royals, Catherine the Princess of Wales is our beautiful Princess, and she is widely admired and highly regarded too," a third person stated.

"Keep calm, carry on and keep going, that's how we counter those bullshit narcissists [high five and clapping emojis]. Really proud of future King William and Queen Catherine, and they look stunning," a fourth fan wrote. "Love Princess Catherine's look and how Prince William's gentleman[ly] gesture towards his beautiful, gorgeous, classy and elegant wife. Keep going, guys."

Scobie blamed the leakage of the names of the alleged royal racists to a "translation error." According to him, "There's never been a version that I've produced that has names in it." However, experts didn't believe him because a name can't be mistranslated.

Dutch royal journalist Rick Evers, who was the first to spot the names, claimed it was not due to mistranslation. Instead, he pointed out that there were missing paragraphs in the English version.

Royal author and expert Robert Jobson speculated that the Sussexes dropped the names for revenge. However, the "Our King Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed" author urged Prince Harry and Markle to stop attacking the royals because "it's damaging the monarchy and certainly not helping their cause either."
