Cam Newton, former quarterback in the National Football League (NFL), recently became embroiled in a heated physical altercation that was caught on video.

The incident unfolded during an event organized by his foundation, C1N, which oversees a 7v7 league conducting tournaments throughout the country on Sunday. The scuffle, captured on videos that has since gone viral, portrays a few individuals forcefully pushing the NFL star before hastily retreating to an area surrounded by trees.

The three-time Pro Bowler was captured on video courageously fending off two assailants before a third individual joined the scuffle, delivering what seemed to be two unexpected punches. Remarkably, Newton, 34, emerged seemingly unscathed from the blows.

According to Fox News, two of the men involved in the altercation were coaches TJ and Steph Brown, who claimed Newton's taunting throughout the weekend ultimately led to the fight in Atlanta.

TJ told Fox News Digital on Monday how "it just should never have gone to that."

Additional footage of the altercation, posted by Dj Akademiks, shows the ex-Carolina Panthers quarterback effectively immobilizing one of the assailants with a firm grip on his arm, concurrently handling a second aggressor with ease by tossing them around like a ragdoll, using only his left hand.

"I'm disappointed in myself. I let Cam trigger me to that point where I entertained what he was doing, but it was never out of ill will or to put him in harm's way," Steph said. "I'm 5'9", man, but I stand on what I stand on. I say what I'm going to say no matter what. I ain't got to be loud, this and that. But me going up there was to let him know, 'Cam, you're not gonna disrespect our organization, you're not going to disrespect our kids or our parents out here. You're bigger than that.'"

Newton, who was the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, has not responded publically.

Atlanta police helped deescalade the quarrel. No arrests or charges were made.
