Fifty Shades of Grey casting buzz continues to run wild with a new name surfacing for the part of the S&M-crazed billionaire Christian Grey, as South African model Bryce Thompson has reportedly tried out for the role.

While the easy on the eyes hunk hassn't exactly achieved A-lister status as of yet, a handful of fans have recently taken to Twitter in order to support him for the part.

One fan queried Thompson with the following question in order to prove the chatter's legitimacy:

"@NicLuvs1R: "@brycethompson8, is it true that you'll play Christian Grey in the upcoming "Shades if Grey" movie???"

The model was quick to respond that the project was only in its initial casting phases.

"@Brycethompson8: "just at audition phases. Working on it," the model posted.

Amongst many other comments, he also expressed his desire for landing the Grey role.

"@Brycethompson8: no problem, I do want this role, and all the dedicated fans are part of the package. Big packages are better!"

To top it off, Cosmopolitan also brought up Thompson, and even gave the potential casting its seal of approval.

"This model who we've never heard of, but is now on our Slam Piece list, has allegedly auditioned for the role as Christian Grey. COULD HE BE THE CHOSEN ONE?! We can get behind this."

Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson rumored to be frontrunners for Christian & Ana?

Fifty Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who's currently hard at work on the script, said that she'd be staying true to the content of author E.L. James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness. Only time will truly reveal who'll ultimately become the next Grey.

The highly anticipated movie is slated to launch on the big screen on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2014. Be sure to check back for more of the latest info on the racy flick.
