In anticipation for its long-awaited third season, BBC's Sherlock has given its fans a few more hints as what they can expect when the TV series makes its return.

Earlier in the year, the program started shooting both the first and second episodes of series 3, which were titled The Empty Hearse and The Sign of Three respectively.

However, the production was forced to go on a hiatus in order to accommodate the tight schedules of actors Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin Freeman (Watson), according to Unreality TV.

Sherlock & Watson's Reunion Not To Go As Planned?

With episode three, His Last Vow, has finished filming, clues have surfaced in the form of set images.

In one of the pics, Cumberbatch could be witnessed filming a scene in the pouring rain. In another photo, both he and Freeman are shown chuckling on the set with 1st assistant director Toni Staples.

A third image revealed a director's clapboard alongside the infamous door numbers at 221B Baker. Interestingly enough, the clapboard shows a date on it of April 10th, indicating that the still shot is related to one of the first two installments.

Sherlock is set to return on Thursday, October 31 on the BBC. Upon airing, over two years will have passed since the program was last seen with new episodes on TV. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest information on the popular series.
