Haunter, the supernatural thriller starring Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Zombieland), is available for streaming on SundanceNOW.

The Canadian horror film has been written and directed by Vincenzo Natali (Cypher, Splice) and premiered an official selection at the South by Southwest film festival earlier this year.

The story is seen through the eyes of Lisa Johnson (Breslin), who is one day away from her sixteenth birthday but she will always remain 15. It's like Groundhog Day sans Bill Murray's comical pursuit of Andy MacDowell's character.

Lisa and her family must relive the fateful day of their murder over and over as the undead. The family was killed in 1985 and have been trapped eversince. In an interesting turn of events, Lisa has "woken up" but she feels like she is being haunted by a ghost, a girl named Olivia.

As things unfold Lisa finds out that Olivia is in fact human and alive, and has been living in the house with her own family. The two become friends and Olivia aids Lisa in investigating her family's murderer's history. They find out that the house belonged to a serial killer who kidnapped teenage girls and got rid of their remains in by incerating them in a secret furnace room. After his death he became a powerful evil spirit who had the ability to possess the living.

The film also stars Peter Outerbridge, Michelle Nolden and Stephen McHattie. The film is currently running at select theaters and is also available on Cable VOD (Video on Demand).
