'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Jared Padalecki Posts New VIDEO Promo; Felicia Day Helps Dorothy Fight Wicked Witch
Supernatural's Winchester brothers are taking on one of the most well known witches of all time - the Wicked Witch of the West.
In this week's "Slumber Party," Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Charlie (Felicia Day) will inadvertently let Dorothy (Tiio Horn) and the Witch (Maya Massar) loose in the Men of Letter's bunker, the result of which could nearly destroy the Winchester's new home.
The hunters call in their tech expert, Charlie, to help figure out how to track the falling angels using an old Men of Letters computer. While moving the device, the group accidentally dislodges a hex bag that had helped to trap the iconic Wizard of Oz characters.
As it turns out, Charlie is now a full-fledged hunter (see video below) and will be able to pair up with Sam to help corral the Witch.
"[Sam] gets someone to play off because there are parts where [the four of us] have to split up," Padalecki said, according to TV Line. "Dean and Charlie head one way, and Dorothy and I head another way. We also get to see into Sam's psyche a little bit. He opens up to Dorothy in ways he wouldn't have opened up to Dean or Charlie or Crowley or Kevin or Cas. He gets to tell her things [because] he knows she's not going to be around the next week."
However, the team will run into trouble as they try to keep the Witch away from Crowley (Mark Sheppard). A promo for this week shows the King of Hell telling someone that he s a big fan of their work. Could he be talking to a fellow villain?
Today Padalecki released a new clip (see second video below) via Twitter.
"Here it is! Tomorrows trailer with an "alternate title" and a shout out to the fans :) who sees it?! #SpnFamily," the actor wrote.
The shout out Padalecki refers to can be seen in the lower left corner of the title card and reads, "This is for the SPNFamily whose dedication and love drive us to continue creating this wonderful world. Keeping up the Family Business."
Supernatural airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW.
