Days after Mariah Carey released her newest single The Art of Letting Go, the songstress took to her Facebook Thursday, Nov. 14, to reveal a huge mistake that has been made with the track.

A "brand new" sound engineer accidentally uploaded the wrong version of the song onto the social media website, Carey admitted. The tune fans heard, which was released on Monday, was a version of the song before it was mastered.

"I'm sitting on my bathroom floor, very upset by some news I just got from a close friend and employee," Carey wrote as her status early morning. "To cut to the chase, a mistake was made by a brand new sound engineer whose only task was to press the space bar and upload the song to Facebook."

"I was focused on answering your questions during the Q&A. There was no reason for me to wonder if the final mix we were listening to in that room together was different than what you were listening to!!!!!!"

The Beautiful singer added that while the differences might not seem like a big deal to the average ear, she wanted her fans to listen to the completed version of the song.

She went on to share the correct version of the song, while leaving the previous version still posted to let fans decide if they can tell the difference. She asked fans if they understand why she prefers the final version and if the final cut gives them different feelings after hearing it.

Fans went on to tell Carey "both versions are amazing" and while some could tell the difference, other claimed it wasn't "grossly noticeable."

Carey ended off by saying, "This is such a personal record to me. I wrote the lyrics so that anyone and everyone could relate to them and hopefully release anything that they need to let go of that's holding them back or bringing them down."
