TLC's highly anticipated performance at the American Music Awards 2013 was a mix of ups and downs for the audience.

The performance opened with what appeared to be rain falling from the ceiling. Lil Mama became the "L" of the group and joined them on stage as a special surprise guest. The group performed one of their top hits, Waterfalls, and did the nineties choreography that the music video is known for. Lil Mama initially held her own with the legendary performers, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. But when it came to the new school rapper saying the lyrics of the late Lisa "Lefteye" Lopes, she caught a few extra breaths and lost her way. She started strong but unfortunately ended up missing quite a bit of the lyrics.

In addition to that, the Lip Gloss rapper's section was mixed with Drake's Started From The Bottom, so that might have been what threw her off a little bit. While she finished strong, the camera still caught T-Boz and Chilli's "oh no" look that they gave each other.

The group wore similar all-white outfits and Lil Mama still rocked her green hair. T-Boz was a little more covered up than the other ladies and opted out of showing her belly like the other two ladies. Lil Mama also had a green, cape-like skirt hanging from her pants.

Just days before the performance, the T-Boz and Chilli faced rumors that they were dropped from the Epic Record Label. But those rumors were put to a stop when the labels CEO, LA Reid, took to Twitter to say they were not only still on the label, but they would all always be friends.
