As Homeland season 3 winds down to a close, viewers should expect plenty of conflict between Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin).

With Saul determining that Carrie aided in helping Brody (Damian Lewis) leave the country, he has entered into a position of not trusting her.

"Secrets are being kept from each other and plans and agendas and motivations are being withheld," executive producer Alex Gansa told TV Guide Tuesday. Carrie and Saul might not be able to mend fences enough to complete the dangerous mission at hand "Even though they were in cahoots at the beginning of the season, their relationship has frayed somewhat. This [is] a bit of a rocky patch for both of them."

Gansa also spoke with Entertainment Weekly about where viewers should expect Homeland to go in the last few episodes of the season. The executive producer revealed that the next three episodes will deal with the mission in Iran, in which Brody is to kill the leader of the Revolutionary Guard.

"The last three episodes, at least three quarters of them are set in the Middle East," he added. Fans will also learn the reason behind the special ops team, who trained Brody back into physical shape, being entirely comprised of Arab-Americans. This will be explored in episode 10, which is to air on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
