Filming is complete for Transformers: Age of Extinction and Michael Bay's team is now in the process of editing the movie, the director announced on his website Thursday.

He also teased the first trailer of the film, which will be shown during the 2014 Super Bowl.

The upcoming 48th chapter of the Super Bowl will take place on Feb. 2, 2014 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The director stated that fans will get a first official glimpse of the film at the event, followed by a preview video.

Filming Age of Extinction took five and a half months, one of which was spent in China.

"My crew and I had a fantastic time shooting in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It was an amazing experience, and I love the country," Bay wrote about working in the country.

He also praised the movie's cast -- which includes Michael Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer and Stanley Tucci -- calling them "absolutely fantastic" and "a very fun group to work with."

Now that shooting is done with, the director said the film's crew was busy working "hard cutting the movie."

The director also addressed his issue with reporters and how he felt they manipulated and misconstrued his words in the past. He was particularly referring to a recent instance where it ended up seeming like the director said that the fourth installment was way cooler and less goofier than the earlier films in the franchise.

"No I did not 'apologize' for any Transformers movies. I did not say I shot the last three movies 'less cool' then the new fourth installment. I was talking specifically about camera style and tone, of the first movie compared to how I shot the new installment with a very big scale, cinematic style," he wrote. "I was very specific in saying the first Transformers was shot in a 'generic suburbia' area, not trying to be cool with any cinematic flashes. I wanted it to feel like this could happen in any backyard in the United States."

Reynor is the male lead of the film and will be playing a race car driver. Peltz acts as Reynor's girlfriend and Wahlberg will portray Flynn Vincent, Peltz's dad. Grammer will be playing the role of Harold Attinger, a counter-intelligence agent who is the main antagonist in the film.

Transformers: Age of Extinction comes out June 27, 2014.
