Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen is currently in early talks to play a character in Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to the 2010 version of Alice in Wonderland.

According to RealBollywood, Cohen is in talks to play a negative character, but the remaining details are unknown at this time.

Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska are set to reprise their roles as the Mad Hatter and Alice.

The plot and remaining characters are currently unknown.

Tim Burton directed the original, but the sequel will be directed by James Bobin; he also directed The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted.

Cohen and Depp previously worked together in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Alice in Wonderland won two Oscars in 2011- one for Best Achievement in Costume Design and another for Best Achievement in Art Direction. The film was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects.

The film was also nominated for three Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy (Johnny Depp) and Best Original Score.

Some of Cohen's previous credits include Borat, Bruno, The Dictator and Les Miserables. He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Writing for an Adapted Screenplay for Borat back in 2007.

He also won a Golden Globe that year for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy for the film.

The sequel to Alice in Wonderland will be in theaters on May 27, 2016.
