As A.J. Quartermaine (Sean Kanaan) holds on for dear life, someone who has no connection to his shooting will potentially head to prison for the crime on General Hospital.

Sonny to Take the Fall for Ava?

While piecing together his memories of the night Connie Falconeri died, A.J. remembered that he wasn't responsible, and that Ava (Maura West) killed Connie. However, his confrontation didn't go as well as hoped when Ava pulled a gun out and shot him.

Now, he is in the hospital, and in a preview clip for the Thursday, March 6 episode, he will fight for his life.

Ava Shoots A.J.?

"You can't just let him die! Help Him!" Michael (Chad Duell) said as he watched while doctors fought to save him.

However, with A.J. unable to speak up and say who shot him, the cops are unaware of Ava's involvement, and instead, Sonny (Maurice Bernard) becomes the prime suspect.

Even his son Morgan (Bryan Craig) is doubtful of his father's innocence because it would appear likely that Sonny could shoot A.J. because he still believes he is responsible for Connie's death.

"You didn't have anything to do with this did you?" Morgan asked his father in the clip.

However, another potential suspect that may be investigated is none other than Ava's brother, Julian (Michael DeVry), who has been dragged in for questioning by Anna (Finola Hughes).

"You don't know the first thing about me or what I'm capable of," she said to him.

Anna may currently suspect that Julian sent A.J. to harm his sister because she switched sides in the ongoing mob war, and if she finds him guilty, she could charge him in A.J.'s attack.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 2 p.m. on ABC.
